Villa V

Baiana (BS), Italy – 2013 – 2014
Completion 2017
Overall dimension 110 sqm + 110 sqm underground

This is the extension to an existing house, that has also been completely restored.
The extension focuses on redefining the living and dining spaces, and on giving a new shape and image to the entire house. A great portico becomes the ‘trait d’union’ of the entire composition. The existing building has a pitched roof, like all the houses in the small village of Baiana, so the extension tries to speak the same language while interpretating it in a more contemporary and clean way. Great openings dominate the new volume and define the relationship between the internal spaces and the portico. Natural materials like local split stone, pietra serena and wood dominate the palette used for the project.
