The project plans are the restoration of the 15th century Castle, the reconstruction of some volumes partially collapsed during the second half of the 20th century and a new definition and use of the open spaces of the internal court and the ditch.
The restoration handles the theme of reconstruction of the ancient volumes together with the aim to keep as much as possible the original parts of the building well maintained to the present. This is pursued with non-invasive and localized interventions, using traditional materials. The language used for the reconstruction of portions of the historical buildings allows to clearly acknowledge the original typology and morphology of the complex. The same portions are at the same time easily recognizable compared to the historical ones.
A little recent and utilitarian addition, almost generally collapsed in the last decades, set to the north of the main building is instead reconstructed with a wooden facade which aims to make it appear secondary and at the same time contemporary compared to the ancient walls. The same treatment is used for the closure of a first floor loggia that is transformed into an apartment. These new elements are designed with a modern use of materials (wood and glass), counterpointing the historical brick walls.
A proper spatial identity is given again to the ditch, with no more water since the beginning of the 19th century, which is treated as a grass lawn with no trees, with a hedge that encircles it and mediates its relationship with the surrounding countryside.
The main court, treated as an internal garden serving the dwellings, is rethought with a paving that underlines the geometry of the spaces and the built volumes, leaving the great part of the spaces as a meadow. A great oak is inserted in relationship with the buildings’ masses and integrates the garden.
With the end of 2010 the first phase of the realization was finished with all the roofs and the facades completed, while the general completion of the work with the finishing is scheduled for the future.

Il progetto prevede il restauro del Castello del XV secolo, la ricostruzione di alcuni volumi parzialmente crollati nella seconda metà del XX secolo e una nuova definizione e uso degli spazi aperti della corte interna e del fossato.
Il restauro tocca il tema della ricostruzione di volumi antichi insieme alla volontà di mantenere il più possibile delle parti originali dell’edificio ben conservatesi fino ad oggi. Questo è perseguito mediante interventi locali e non invasivi, utilizzando materiali tradizionali. Il linguaggio utilizzato per la ricostruzione di porzioni degli edifici storici consente di riconoscere con chiarezza la tipologia e la morfologia originaria del complesso. Le stesse porzioni sono allo stesso tempo facilmente riconoscibili comparate con quelle storiche. Una piccola recente superfetazione, quasi completamente crollata negli ultimi
decenni, posta a nord dell’edificio principale, è stata invece ricostruita con una facciata lignea che mira a sottolinearne la funzione secondaria e allo stesso tempo contemporanea paragonata alle murature storiche.
Lo stesso trattamento viene usato per la chiusura di una loggia posta al primo piano di uno dei corpi di fabbrica, che viene trasformata in abitazione.
Questi elementi nuovi sono progettati con un uso contemporaneo dei materiali (legno e vetro) che fa da contrappunto ai muri storici.
Una propria identità spaziale viene data al fossato, senza più acqua dall’inizio del XIX secolo, che viene trattato come un prato erboso senza alberi, con una siepe che lo circonda e ne media la relazione con la campagna circostante.
La corte principale, trattata come un giardino interno a servizio delle abitazioni, viene ripensata con una pavimentazione che sottolinea la geometria degli spazi e dei volumi costruiti, lasciando la gran parte degli spazi a prato.
Una grande quercia viene inserita, in relazione con le masse degli edifici e a integrazione del giardino.
Con la fine del 2010 la prima parte dell’intervento è stata completata, con coperture e facciate, mentre la realizzazione di impianti e finiture è prevista per il futuro.
